Ledger: Portfolio Viewer — Privacy Policy
What the extension does
Ledger: Portfolio Viewer displays the balances of public EVM wallet addresses you add, using the public Blockscout explorer APIs for Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base and Polygon. It is 100% read-only: it cannot sign, send, approve or move anything.
Data stored on your device
- Wallet addresses and labels you add — stored locally via the browser's extension storage.
- Cached balance snapshots — so the dashboard opens instantly.
- UI preferences (selected chain tab, whether onboarding was shown).
This data never leaves your device and can be erased at any time from Settings → Data → Erase all, or by removing the extension.
Data sent over the network
When you view a portfolio, the extension sends the wallet address to the public Blockscout explorer of each chain (the same request your browser would make if you opened the explorer website). No cookies, identifiers or other data accompany these requests. The explorers' own privacy policies apply to their processing.
What we never collect or ask for
- Private keys, recovery phrases, PINs or passwords — never.
- Connection to your Ledger device — the extension has no such capability.
- Analytics, telemetry, browsing history or personal information.
If anything inside this extension ever appears to ask for a secret, it did not come from us — close it and report it. Legitimate read-only viewers never need secrets.
Permissions
- storage — save your wallet list and cache locally.
- Blockscout hosts — fetch public balance data for the five chains.

This is an independent, unofficial tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Ledger SAS. "Ledger" is a trademark of its respective owner and is used only to describe compatibility.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version ships with the extension update and this page's effective date changes.
